Thursday, June 21, 2012 Empires of Steam: now updating once every other month!
Lame.
But, hey, let's talk about my life (and why I ain't been updating)! So, on the 12th of May, 2012, I graduated from college, with a BA in Graphic Design and a minor in Creative Writing. I went back home, and picked up my old job baking bagels at waaaaay too early in the morning.
Clearly, that's not the job for me. I'm looking for a new one, and that's what's taking up so much of my time. I know, I know, other artists manage to work full time and still put out at least a page a week, and I don't have much of an excuse, but I do have something to show for it.
See, one of the things I love to do is ink. It's my favorite part of drawing a page, and I think I'm good enough to do it professionally. Like, for a publisher. And Dark Horse has this great service where you can request some sample pencils to ink, which I did, and copies of the finished inks went out in the mail yesterday. If you wanna see some scans, click here (that's a link to my online portfolio, by the by).
So, anyway, I'm searching for a job so's I can buy a car so's I can get a better job so's I can afford an apartment so's I can move out of my parents' house so's I can live with my girlfriend so's I can be happy.
Okay, enough about that, let's talk about this page. I hated it for a while (it's got some really bad composition in those panels, but I was just too damn lazy to fix it), and then I colored it. Super happy with those colors. All dark and moody and stuff. Yeah. Gonna go start the next page, now.
